Six-time Editor's Choice Award winner Naomi Szeben puts life into "green and simple living" articles for Suite 101.com.

She graduated with a BA in Communication Studies from Concordia University, and holds a graduate's diploma from Ryerson University in Radio and Television Arts; It was while at Ryerson that she participated in the first University live radio webcast of what was then called SPIRIT1.

Eventually, she worked briefly at the CBC encoding news for the site that was called "NewsWorld Online" (It's now just CBC.ca) where she wrote the occasional news blurb, and from there went on to write for a now-defunct but extremely hip online 'zine called "Miyo".

After Miyo went under, she went to grad school again, and enrolled in the Master's double-major program of Environmental Studies and Informations Studies. It was in Naomi's first year in grad studies that she had the terrific opportunity to be one of the researchers for Adria Vasil's book, "Ecoholic: Your Guide to the Most Environmentally Friendly Information, Products and Services in Canada."

Naomi discovered that there are more options for living an affordable and green life than just banning plastics and harsh chemicals in your life: Some trends may come and go, but learning some skills to make your life greener, safer for you and family can actually be fun at times. Join Naomi in her quest to find fun, safe and cool ways to cut costs and save the earth, while having fun!

She currently lives in downtown Toronto with her spouse, the charismatic film critic Dominic Messier, who writes engaging but thoughtful film critiques for Suite 101.
